Marketing Director for Past Lives | Makerspace in Portland, Oregon

Strategized and implemented a cross-platform marketing strategy to grow the membership of a budding art collective. Produced video content for Web and Social Media, filmed and edited dozens of video advertisements to highlight all of the creative resources and community offered as a member, designed and animated graphics, posters, and flyers, monitored analytics to adjust media strategy, and optimized department operations by installing standard operation procedures and brand protocols.

Researched the startup’s past advertising analytics and performed a keyword and competitive analysis to build my plan that brought their website from averaging 75th on search engines— garnering 0 clicks and 0 paid members ever— to immediately averaging 2nd placement on all search engines, with 350 clicks and 14 paying members from raw search (no business name) in just the first month post-change. Managed the upload, ad placement and budget adjustments of paid advertisements online; Coordinated classes and events, updated and moderated the community Discord, overhauled website Copy and SEO, and positioned organization on local media including Travel Portland and Willamette Weekly.

This ultimately brought their Instagram follower count to over 10K and more than tripled their paid membership in less than one year.

As a camera operator, I've filmed live events of many energetic styles: from the packed-stadium of an SEC Football Championship and energetic concerts, to engaging studio-audience panels and intimate one-on-one corporate interviews. I understand both how to be a fly on the wall verite style or to lead emotional conversations with a subject.

Scientist Demitri Hopkins has invented some seriously cool & innovative green technologies. When I found AGNI, they were having trouble communicating the intricacies of their work to both scientists and potential investors. Upon initial assessment, I realized the communication breakdown was keeping their potential collaborators from seeing just how life-changing these machines really are.

After brushing up my knowledge on nuclear energy, quantum mechanics, carbon capture and other advanced fields of science, I went to work on Copy for two different audiences: those who knew the science and those that didn’t. I wrote not only their business’ new Pitch Deck, Website, and Company Bio, but also the final business plan.

As of 2024, most work between 2019 and 2021 as Creative Director at AGNI Energy remains confidential. The Video Content, Graphic Design, and Copy I created was solely for communicating information about the inventions to collaborating scientists and potential partners, sponsors, or investors.

They specifically appreciated having to hire only one contractor that could handle all aspects of their needs with such high-caliber precision: Brand Development, Marketing Strategy, Content Production, Asset Design, and Copywriting— and are happy to serve as a reference in lieu of my secret portfolio.
